Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Steve Nash is going to court seeking an order to stop his name and/or image from being used in partnership with 21 fitness facilities around British Columbia.
Nash recently filed a notice of civil claim in B.C. Supreme Court, stating that there was a breach of contract with his company, B & L Holdings Ltd., and SNFW Fitness B.C. Ltd., the company that is currently running the facilities throughout the province.

Alongside his company, Nash has also named business partners Mark Mastrov and Leonard Schlemm as defendants.
It was in July of 2014 that Mastrov, without notifying Nash, resigned as an officer with a B.C. company connected to the clubs named FWG Acquisitions Ltd. According to the suit, Mastrov transferred all of his shares to Schlemm.
According to the writ, SNFW has continued to run the fitness facilities underneath the name “Steve Nash Fitness World” since 2014.
Nash reportedly ended all involvement with the fitness facilities in the same year and has not been a board member since.
Nash, a Victoria native, played 18 seasons in the NBA, spending time with the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers.
