After a lengthy battle in court with his ex-business partners, Steve Nash’s case has officially been thrown out of court.
The two-time MVP superstar and local hero was in an epic dispute with SNFW Fitness B.C. Ltd., his former partner, over their right to continue to use his name on the Steve Nash fitness chain.
Nash filed the lawsuit last October of 2016, alleging that there had been a breach of contract with his holding company, B & L Holding Inc.
Steve Nash’s Lawsuit Details
B.C. Supreme Court Justice Nitya Lyer argued that there was no issue for the case to be brought to trial. She stated that Nash simply did not have an appropriate cause of action.

The court found that according to a 2006 agreement, Nash’s company, B & L Holding, authorized the use of his name until 2022. Nash had acknowledged these conditions when he signed the document, and therefore the Judge did not find SNFW Fitness B.C. Ltd to be in breach of contract.
Now, all nineteen Steve Nash Fitness Clubs will continue to operate throughout the province with his name and image continuing to appear in conjunction with the company.
Nash is originally from Victoria, British Columbia and is the only Canadian to every be awarded the Most Valuable Player Award in the NBA.
He also was awarded the order of Canada.
