It comes as a surprise to few that snowy weather causes accidents; however, the recent number of collisions in Richmond on Wednesday, February 21st was exceptionally high.
Richmond RCMP took to twitter to record the number of incidents; they recorded a total of 22 collisions in a 24 hour period ending at 7 am on Thursday. That means there was nearly one episode per hour during this time, which is an unusually high figure.

Richmond Collisions: Snow Safety
Aside from a few fun emojis, the RCMP were serious about drivers exercising added caution on the road during snowy weather.
They mention that drivers ought to ensure that their windshields are free of any snow or ice that may impede their vision.
In addition, they state that drivers should proceed slowly and with caution. Whether that means that people need to leave earlier to reach their destinations, or simply make alternate plans, they must exercise extra care during snowy weather.
