Pirates of the Caribbean To Finish Filming In Vancouver

Don’t be surprised if there’s a sudden shortage of rum this spring as Captain Jack Sparrow plans to sail himself and the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean to Vancouver.

To wrap up production of the fifth installment of the heavily popular movie series, Pirates of the Caribbean will film in Vancouver and put the final touches on Dead Men Tell No Tales from March 28, to April 13.

Production of the film began in Australia in 2015, and has faced numerous delays and push backs including Johnny Depp getting injured, and also facing allegations of illegally smuggling both his Yorkshire Terriers, Pistol and Boo into the country.

The project is reportedly $70 million over budget, largely due to the delays.

There’s no official word on where the franchise will be filming, but sources say it will be under the title “Herschel Additional Photography”. Sources also point out that majority of the filming will likely be indoors inside a studio.

Kaya Scodelario, who plays Carina Smyth in the movie, is already in Vancouver to shoot her scenes in Maze Runner sequel.

Pirates  of the Caribbean is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 26, 2017.
