Canada’s very first pod hotel has just opened their doors in Whistler. The highly-anticipated Pangea Pod Hotel is finally here and accepting reservations.

Pod hotels offer a cheaper alternative and more authentic travel experience and is an accommodation type that has been missing in Canada, until now.

Pangea is revolutionizing the hospitality scene with its cozy pods, community atmosphere and chic decor for budget travelers.

The pods cost at most about half the price you would pay for a hotel room in the area. Nestled right in the heart of the village—Pangea also has a prime location that can’t be beat.

The Pods

Obviously the main draw is the cozy sleeping pods. There’s 88 independent pods split up into eight separate suites. There are four different types of pods to choose from (Mezzanine, Front-Entry, Female-Only, Side-Entry) and they are actually surprisingly roomy.

All of the pods feature double memory-foam mattresses, LED lighting and storage space (hangers, hooks and shelving units). They also have a mirror, fan and a USB charging port for your devices. If you need more storage, you can have access to a locker for valuables.

The Mezzanine pod is the “loft” level where you’ll climb to the top of the bunk and feel just like you’re back at Summer camp. Female-Only pods are located in suites where only female travelers can book in for those who feel a little uneasy about shared accommodation. Each suite has its own washrooms, vanities, showers and changing spaces to limit long line-ups.

The Living Room

Feel right at home at Pangea’s hangout space that is the ultimate triple threat—lounge, bar and cafe. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Whistler’s bustling village, unique furnishings and chic decor—this is the place to be. It’s also open to anyone, not just those staying at the hotel.

In the morning grab a cup of joe at their espresso bar or pick up a breakfast sandwich or pastry to get your day started on the right foot.

For more bites, dig into a selection of cured meats and cheeses, savoury flat breads and fresh salads. Their hand-crafted cocktails and drink selections won’t disappoint either. The living room is fancy but also homey with a variety of board games to keep you entertained.

The Rooftop Patio

When in Whistler, it makes the most sense to be close to all the action. Pangea is right in the middle of it all which means you get the best location for the best price.

Go adventuring by day and wander along the strip and bar-hop by night. Pangea also gives you a wristband with a sensor ‘key’ so you don’t have to worry about losing it at the end of a wild night.

Those who travel to Whistler often have a lot of toys—whether it’s skis and snowboards or mountain bikes. Don’t worry—you won’t have to store these in your pod.

There’s a designated spot for all your equipment so you can rest assured everything stays safe.
