Lucky Vancouverites soaked in a stunning surprise Sunday night and into Monday morning thanks to a geomagnetic storm from the sun.
As a result, northern lights danced at high latitudes, showcasing green and purple lights across Canadian skies.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center, the storm was moderate, rating as level 2 on a 0 to 5 scale.
