MUJI’s retail store at Metropolis at Metrotown has announced a temporary closure to undergo a significant expansion.
Despite the fact it’s only been open for a year, it will close doors on October 1 to complete the process of taking over three additional units.

When the store re-opens in late-October, retail space will grow from 7,770 sq. ft. to 12,305 sq.ft., nearly doubling in size. The additional space will make the Metrotown location the second largest MUJI in Canada, only behind the Robson flagship store which boasts 14,507 sq ft. of shopping.
In addition to carrying MUJI Canada’s full range of merchandise more than 4,000 items including household goods, apparel and food – the expanded store will offer new services such as the Interior Advisory service, the Style Advisory service, and for the first time in Canada, a brand-new complimentary alteration service.
The Metrotown store will be the second location to feature the Aroma Bar, which allows customers to create a customized fragrance blend by choosing from more than 40 essential oils. Finally, the full MUJI YOURSELF customization service will be available, including embroidery, stamps, gift wrapping and label printing.
