Lonely Planet Names Canada As Top Country To Visit In 2017

If you’ve been thinking about taking a trip next year, you may not have to travel too far as our own backyard has a lot to offer.

Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide publisher in the world—has listed Canada as being the best country to visit in 2017.

Many factors brought Canada to the top of the destination list—including our energetic new leader Justin Trudeau, delicious fusion food, underrated wine, and dynamic cities which have a reputation of being polite and inclusive.

Other factors included the many scenic spots sprinkled across the country and the weak Canadian dollar.

2017 also marks a milestone for Canada—with its 150th birthday coming up.

Colombia took second place, while Finland nabbed the third spot. Read the list of the top 10 below:
