As a result of the Strip Creek wildfire that broke out on Sunday, lane closures are in effect for the Sea-to-Sky Highway.

Lanes north of Horseshoe Bay will remain closed for several more days as crews continue to deal with the wildfire.

There are a number of hazardous trees adjacent to the highway that need to be dealt with first before the northbound highway lanes can be used for traffic.

Until the trees are cleared, all northbound lanes between Ansell Place and Ocean Point Road are closed, with northbound traffic diverted into one of the southbound lanes.

Drivers should expect delays and are asked to slow down, use extra caution and allow for additional time.
