ICBC has officially started rolling out $110 rebates to eligible customers across British Columbia. In total, 3.7 million rebates will be distributed, amounting to $410 million in savings for personal and commercial policyholders who had an active Basic insurance policy in January 2025.
According to the province, ICBC’s strong financial standing and careful fiscal management have made this rebate possible. Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Garry Begg emphasized that this initiative is aimed at easing financial pressure on ratepayers during uncertain economic times.

Who Is Eligible?
If you held an active ICBC Basic insurance policy in January 2025—whether personal or commercial—you’re in line for a rebate. Customers with multiple policies will receive a rebate for each qualifying policy. However, certain policy types won’t be eligible, including:
- Storage policies
- Temporary Operation Permits
- Policies for golf carts, off-road vehicles, limited-speed motorcycles, trailers, and collector vehicles
When Will You Get Your Rebate?
Rebates will be processed between mid-March and May 2025. The exact timing of when you’ll receive your rebate depends on your payment method and how you originally paid for your insurance.
ICBC has also confirmed that all rebates will be processed through Canadian vendors, ensuring that funds stay within the province despite ongoing U.S. trade challenges.
Even after ICBC has issued your rebate, the following factors could affect when you receive it:
- Processing times at your financial institution or credit card issuer
- The date of your payment plan’s next scheduled payment
- Mail processing and delivery timelines in your community
All eligible customers will be sent a letter with details on how they will receive their rebate.
ICBC’s Commitment to Affordability
ICBC President and CEO David Wong highlighted that strong investment returns have allowed the insurer to offer rebates while keeping Basic insurance rates steady for the past six years. In addition to rebates, ICBC continues to invest in road safety programs, allocating $50 million annually toward improving B.C.’s roads and safety initiatives.
