Grouse Grind Opening Date 2013

Mother Nature’s Stairmaster, better known as The Grouse Grind is preparing to open its trails for the 2013 season! The 2.9 kilometre trail which usually takes anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours to complete will guarantee to make you  break a sweat as you overcome it’s 2,830 stairs!

Grouse Grind features The Grind Timer, which is a card previously known as the Summit Seeker Card, which allows you to track your training. All you need to do is swipe your card with contains a radio frequency chip, and then swipe it again at the top of the trail. Your name and time will appear on a monitor and your results can even be printed for you or checked online!

The Grouse Grind is open from 6:15 am until 7:30 on Grouse Mountain, and features the following:

  • 2,830 stairs
  • elevation gain of 853 metres (2,800 feet)
  • 2.9 kilometres in length (1.8 miles)
  • a summit of 1,127 metres (3,700 feet)

Typically people of all ages participate in this hike, and this attraction receives around 100,000 people per year! If you haven’t checked it out already, be sure to make this year the year you do!
