How GoEasy Waterbikes Is Turning Outdoor Recreation Into Community Impact In Vancouver

It’s the warmest, sunniest time in B.C. right now, and with all that sunshine comes good, old fashioned outdoor recreation. This summer, GoEasy Water Bikes is combining wellness with community impact, truly making waves for those who need it the most.

From fundraising for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation to hosting a multisport triathlon, GoEasy is inviting you to take part in some fun under the sun while giving back to your community.

Solo Pedalling for BC Children’s Hospital

On September 20, GoEasy Waterbike’s Managing Partner Tiernan is hitting the water for an amazing 60-kilometre solo pedal across the Strait of Georgia to raise $10,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation (BCCHF).

Every single dollar raised is going toward BCCHF, with GoEasy adding to the pot by donating an extra $50 for every hour Tiernan is out on the water. His launch kicks off at 6:00am at Vancouver’s Vanier Park, and he’s expected to arrive at the beach at Nanaimo’s Maffeo Sutton Park between 7:00pm and 9:00pm.

You won’t want to miss Tiernan’s spectacular launch and arrival, so be sure to be at either location if you want to catch the beginning or end of his solo pedal. But don’t worry– even if you can’t make it, you can still catch all the excitement from your mobile device. A GPS tracker will be attached to Tiernan, allowing easy viewing via public map link.

Keeping Active With GEAR Multisport Triathlon

But before the solo pedal happens, GoEasy Waterbikes will be hosting something you take part in, too: the GEAR (GoEasy Athletic Race) multisport triathlon! Taking place on September 5, this triathlon invites you to run and bike your way through the route, including a circuit section that will test all your muscles before you can cross the finish line for that sweet grand prize.

Here’s what you can expect out of the event:

  • A run of 2-5KM
  • Waterbiking for approximately 2KM
  • Four circuits, including Squamps (Squat Jumps), Throw ins (Medicine ball throws), and Overdrives (overhead carry)
  • A final sprint across the finish line

There are 60 spots for racers, so interested folks should sign up as soon as possible. Early bird pricing sits at $49.99, but more entries will bring that up so register before price increases. It’s better to grab those early spots before they get filled!

Spin Classes on the Water

Maybe you’re not the racing type– that’s totally fine. GoEasy Waterbikes still has something unique for those of you who like to be active but aren’t signing up for triathlons, like a 45-minute Spin++ class!

This high-energy, full-body workout combines traditional cycling with core and upper-body exercises. Classes are led by an instructor and offered in a small-group format, providing participants with guidance and motivation throughout the session.

The spin classes are exclusive to False Creek. They cost $44 per person, plus taxes, and offer a unique way to switch up a traditional fitness routine. You can also grab a punch card, priced at $175 for 5 classes, as well as a 10-class option available at $300.

Taking It Easy During Golden Hour

Looking to take it slow instead? No problem. Sports aside, Book now summer sunset rides across Vancouver’s orange-hued False Creek and English Bay when the sun just begins to set over the horizon.

For those wanting to share the fun, GoEasy’s amazing group packages make getting your crew on the water a total breeze! Perfect for corporate team-building or epic celebrations, they can comfortably host 5 to 60 riders at their private False Creek waterfront.

They also have hourly rentals and group packages available, making it a super exciting experience no matter what time of day you get out onto the water. It’s great for friends, couples, and anyone who wants a bit of adventure. And that’s what GoEasy Water Bikes is all about: having a good time, embracing the great outdoors, and bridging the connection between people, nature, and community.

Whether you’re tuning into Tiernan’s solo pedal, taking part in the triathlon (or cheering the racers on), or just enjoying all that Vancouver’s waterways have to offer, GoEasy Waterbikes has you covered this summer.
