Corn maze | Bose Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

The Bose Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is now open until Monday, October 9th, 2017. Once you reach the end of the maze, free fire pits are put in place where you can roast marshmallows. Marshmallows and roasting sticks are provided at no cost. Furthermore, enjoy a free ride on the hay wagon to the Bose Pumpkin Patch every weekend throughout October, with the purchase of a pumpkin. Tickets range from being free to $23.

Art | Intangible

The Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art presents Intangible, a dynamic exhibition that will challenge preconceived notions of ‘Coast Salish art’. It’s on display from Wednesday, September 13th – Sunday, December 10th, 2017. Featuring previously crafted, and never-before-seen creations, Intangible spotlights six trailblazing Coast Salish artists influenced by tradition as well as contemporary inspiration.

Lip sync | Toads Got Talent Lip Sync

The third instalment of Steel Toad’s Lip Sync Battle competition is ready to begin. Every Tuesday night from September 19th – October 31st, 2017, contestants will get on stage and lip sync some fantastic tunes.

Dance | Embryotrophic Cavatina

Kokoro Dance presents the world premiere of the provocative and primal Embryotrophic Cavatina, the company’s latest full-length butoh work 20-years in the making. The presentation is choreographed by Kokoro Dance Directors & award-winning dance artists Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi. Tickets start at $25.

Concert | Janet Jackson

Global music icon Janet Jackson is coming to Vancouver this week on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017. The show is part of her State Of The World Tour. A true legend, Jackson has won 6 GRAMMY Awards, 2 Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a nomination for an Academy Award along with dozens of American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards.

Perfume | Lush Cosmetics Gorilla Gallery 

Lush Cosmetics, known for its strong ethics and out-of-this-world scents, has created an experiential, exclusive and totally free perfume exhibition that will “pop-up” in Vancouver from Tuesday, September 26th – Saturday, September 30th, 2017. Fresh off a European tour, Gorilla Gallery Volume IV is a large-scale installation of Lush’s conceptual approach to creating perfume, where each new scent is considered a work of art and a medium for self-expression and storytelling.

Performance | Vance Joy

Atlantic recording artist Vance Joy has announced that he’s coming to Vancouver on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017. The show in Vancouver is part of his new “Lay It On Me Tour”. Joy will be performing at the Vogue Theatre. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Charity | A Night to Dream Gala

Join the Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon for the 15th annual A Night to Dream Gala this week on Thursday, September 28th. It takes place at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. The elegant evening will include dinner, dancing and a coveted live and silent auction. Each year, hundreds of families from across BC and the Yukon travel to Vancouver in search of life-saving treatment. Tickets are $350.

Musical | 13: The Musical

Bring On Tomorrow Co. presents the hilarious and clever coming-of-age comedy, 13: The Musical. It plays this week from Thursday, Sept. 28th – Sunday, October 1st and Wednesday, October 4th – Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at the Waterfront Theatre. Yanked from his New York City life after his parents’ divorce, 12-year-old Evan Goldman has a lot going on. Tickets start at $13.

Display | City On Edge

Museum of Vancouver

The Museum of Vancouver (MOV) explores the history of our city’s street protests with City on Edge: A Century of Vancouver Activism. It’s a major, new photo-based exhibition on display from Thursday, September 28th – Sunday, February 18th, 2018. Large digital projections and films coupled with animated sounds of protest choirs will create an immersive environment. It will inspire the public to think about the impact of grassroots activism in their lives.

Film | 36th Annual Vancouver International Film Festival

The 36th annual Vancouver International Film Festival is set to return from Thursday, September 28th, 2017 – Friday, October 13th. After the successful launch of its new programming streams at the 2016 festival, this year’s VIFF will continue to expand the frame and offer a Films+ model. This sees the festival’s 450 screenings complemented by talks, workshops, performances and other unique events.

Activist | Kate Evans

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC presents cartoonist, activist, and author Kate Evans in Threads, Friday, September 29th, 2017. Her performance begins at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Beyond Words series at the Telus Studio Theatre. Revealing accounts of hope and hardship, Evans will recall her experiences at France’s Calais refugee camp. This was told in her acclaimed 2017 graphic novel Threads: From the Refugee Crisis.

DJ | Zedd

Grammy award-winning artist/DJ/producer Zedd is embarking on a new North American tour this fall. Dubbed the “Echo Tour”, the 11-city event will launch right here in Vancouver at UBC’s Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre. Joining Zedd on September 29 will be Grey, best known for their hits “Starving” and “I Miss You” alongside Lophiile, who was recently featured on Zedd’s “Stay” remix EP.

The Richmond Night Market and North Vancouver Shipyards Night Market are open this weekend.
