Food | EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival

The EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival returns from Monday, November 6th – Saturday, November 11th, 2017. It features culinary collaboration from award-winning chefs across Canada with local thought-leading chefs. Guests will take in events such as EAT! Dinner Series, EAT! Harvest, EAT! Pastry, and EAT! Expert Classes. Tickets start at $65.

Art | Intangible

Featuring previously crafted, and never-before-seen creations, Intangible spotlights six trailblazing Coast Salish artists influenced by tradition as well as contemporary inspiration. It’s on display until Sunday, December 10th, 2017.

Circus | Cirque du Soleil

Written and directed by Michel Laprise, KURIOS is a tale in which time comes to a complete stop. Moreover, the realm is in the 19th century, leading audiences to completely change their perception of reality. In an alternate yet familiar past, in a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imagination, a Seeker discovers that in order to glimpse the marvels that lie just below the surface, we must first learn to close our eyes. The show stays in Vancouver until Sunday, December 31st, 2017.

Exhibition | City on Edge

The project features over 650 images of street demonstrations, protests, and riots from the early 1900s. It also highlights the archives of the Vancouver Sun and The Province newspapers. These photos capture emotionally raw and transformative moments in the lives of Vancouverites. It will be on display until Sunday, February 18th, 2018.

Attraction | Soar over America at FlyOver Canada

Have you ever wanted to fly over America? Soar more than 10,000 miles across some of the United States’ most unique and iconic landscapes including Hawaii, Alaska, New York and more. This special opportunity runs from Thursday, November 2nd – Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017. Tickets start at $17.

Art | Fight for Beauty

Westbank has evolved into a cultural practice and this exhibition offers a glimpse into a new and interesting part of our world. In ‘Fight For Beauty’, they attempt to encapsulate the architecture, artistry, design, fashion and city-building initiatives that have come to define their practice. It will be on display until Sunday, December 17th, 2017. Fight For Beauty presents public art projects undertaken with world-class creatives.

Hockey | Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks take on the Detroit Red Wings this week on Monday, November 6th at Rogers Arena. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.

Performance | Missing

City Opera Vancouver with Pacific Opera Victoria presents the world premiere of Missing, November 3rd, 7th, 9th and 11th, 2017. With libretto by distinguished First Nations playwright Marie Clements, Missing addresses the national crisis and devastation of Canada’s missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls. Set between Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and BC’s notorious Highway of Tears, this deeply-moving drama follows the fate of two young women, one Indigenous and one not, whose lives become tragically intertwined.

Festival | Garden Light Festival At Bear Creek Park

Garden Light Festival at Bear Creek Park takes place this week on Wednesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 9th, 2017. From 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., the trails and the trees will be illuminated for two nights. You’ll get to walk through an enchanted forest experience that is said to be like nothing you’ve seen before. Before you arrive, don’t forget to pack a flashlight and dress for the weather – the event will run rain or shine, except in the case of extreme weather conditions. Admission is free.

Poetry | Rupi Kaur

Rupi Kaur brings her unique performance style to the Orpheum Theatre this week on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017. She’s returning with her new book “milk and honey”, her first book of poetry. Tickets are $30.25.

Concert | Mayday

Taiwanese rock band Mayday performs at Rogers Arena this week on Wednesday, November 8th. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show begins at 8:00 p.m.

Sweets | ICHIYO’S Matcha Customer Appreciation Party

There will be Usucha & Koicha tastings of some very high quality, notable Japanese brands, including Hoshino Seichaen, Ippodo Tea Co,, Marukyu Koyamaen, Tsujiri, and Tsuen. FAN EXPO 2017 returns to Vancouver this week from Friday, November 10th to Sunday, November 12th, 2017. It runs from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on the final day. Similar to Comic-Con, FAN EXPO is a three-day event that allows fans of all sorts to nerd out together. There will be over 30,000 people in attendance with more than 500 vendors on site at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Show | John Mulaney

Emmy Award-winning writer and standup comedian John Mulaney performs three shows in Vancouver this week on Thursday, November 9th and Friday, November 10th at Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Tickets are $39.50.

November 11 | Chicken Nugget Festival

Taking place at Central Park, join your fellow chicken nugget-lovers in a day of celebrating your favourite snack and dipping sauce. Before you get too excited, it’s important to note that there won’t be chicken nugget vendors on site. As stated on the event’s Facebook page, you are to BYO-NUGGETS. The entire event will be dedicated to eating and sharing chicken nuggets.

November 12 | TEDxVancouver

TEDxVancouver is returning for another thought-provoking and exciting year on Sunday, November 12th, 2017. The venue for TEDxVancouver 2017 is Vancouver Playhouse Theatre. Moreover, organizers are doing something new this year, hosting live stream events at exclusive locations. Microsoft, Hootsuite, and Vancouver Film School will have a live stream set up at each place.

November 16 | St. Paul’s Lights of Hope

Lights of Hope, St. Paul’s Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign for the hospital’s greatest needs, is celebrating 20 years of giving this holiday season. It takes place on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Not to mention, the launch of the fundraising campaign will be celebrated with fireworks and St. Paul’s Hospital’s iconic lighting display. Burrard Street will be illuminated with over 100,000 sparkling light bulbs.

November 23 | Canyon Lights

Canyon Lights is taking place from Thursday, November 23rd – Sunday, January 28th, 2018. The suspension bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk, the rainforest and canyon are being transformed into a world of festive lights and visual enchantment.
