Travel Video Showcases The Good & Bad Of Vancouver's DTES

Vancouver’s Downtown East Side was featured in a short video by TVShinjuku, a city travel guide channel on YouTube.

With North America’s second largest Chinatown, after San Francisco, the downtown East Side of Vancouver is explored. It also discusses Japantown’s former glory, the old and new Hastings & Main, as well as nearby contrasting Gastown.

“With the poorest postal code in Canada – filled with drug users, poverty and crime, sandwiched between Chinatown and gentrified Gastown – the downtown East Side of Vancouver is an eclectic neighbourhood to say the least.”

The expose of sorts, goes into the roots of Vancouver’s DTES and shines a light on some of the area’s negative connotations.

TVShinjuku produces short travel videos in cities all around the world and is known for aerial and driving footage.
