For 25 summers, Vancouver’s skies have lit up in a dazzling display of colour, music, and community. At the heart of it all? A long-standing partnership that’s helped keep it shining.
Concord Pacific, one of the country’s most active community builders, is marking its 25th year as a sponsor of the Honda Celebration of Light, Vancouver’s most iconic summer event. And this year, they’re doing something a little different to celebrate.
“Concord Pacific has been supporting our communities for generations through 50-plus events and charities and is committed to putting Canada on display at this year’s Honda Celebration of Light,” said President and CEO Terry Hui. “To mark our 25-year partnership with the fireworks, we will be giving our official judging position to one lucky Metro Vancouver family through the Concord Pacific Generational Jury Draw.”
It’s a milestone moment, not just for Concord, but for the Celebration of Light itself. The event, which brings hundreds of thousands of spectators to the waterfront each summer, has long been more than a fireworks show. It’s a cultural gathering, a family tradition, and one of the few events that brings the entire city together for three nights of shared awe.
More Than a Sponsor
Over the past 37 years, Concord Pacific has contributed to more than 50 events and charities across the country, from the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival to Tour de Concord, and many more in between. In Vancouver, their presence is felt not just in the skyline, but in the spaces and experiences that bring people together.
That includes support for causes like the Matthew Perry Foundation, the Concord Adex Survivors Fund, and St. Paul’s Hospital, with a specific focus on care and wellness for Indigenous communities.
Whether it’s backing large-scale festivals or helping to improve local healthcare, Concord’s approach has consistently emphasized one value: community.
“It believes in building family and having generations live together and celebrate together.”
A Legacy in the Sky
The Honda Celebration of Light is one of Vancouver’s most beloved summer traditions, drawing spectators from across the region and beyond. It transforms the city into a shared space of celebration, connection, and pride.
For 25 years, Concord Pacific has helped ensure that tradition continues, not just as a sponsor, but as a partner in making the event accessible, inclusive, and uniquely Vancouver.
This year’s show will feature the Concord Pacific Grandstand, as always, offering a curated viewing experience along the water. But it’s the Generational Jury Draw that adds an extra layer of meaning.
In a move that embodies the company’s values, Concord will be giving up its official judging seat to a Metro Vancouver family, inviting them to experience the fireworks like never before.
