The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC presents Mongolian folk music group Anda Union, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 8pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Hailed by The Guardian as, “stirring and sophisticated,” this nine-member band weaves together ancient musical forms from across Inner Mongolia in a fusion that would make Genghis Khan proud. Performing on rare instruments like the “Horse Head fiddle” and two-stringed lute to accompany a range of throat singing styles, Anda Union is unearthing forgotten music to be enjoyed by the world.
