David Shore, known for bringing us the critically acclaimed medical drama series House, has another hospital show on his hands: The Good Doctor.
The ABC drama is based on a South Korean series of the same name which Lost and Hawaii 5-0 star Daniel Dae Kim helped bring to North America as an Executive Producer.
The Good Doctor stars British actor Freddie Highmore who wrapped up filming Bates Motel in Vancouver and then went straight into this series which also films locally. He plays the lead as surgical resident Dr. Shaun Murphy who happens to have autism and savant syndrome. The rest of the cast includes Nicholas Gonzalez, Antonia Thomas, Beau Garrett, Hill Harper, Richard Schiff, Tamlyn Tomita, Paige Spara, Christina Chang, Will Yun Lee and Fiona Gubelmann.
The pilot episode shot in town during Spring 2017 and then was green lit for a full season order by ABC. The rest of the first season filmed that summer until March of this year. A few months later, this June, the second season commenced filming and is expected to air later this fall.
