There’s something about a backdrop of perfect shades of orange scattered over a green field that makes for an Instagram-worthy post.

Pumpkin patches have become so much more than just that: not only can you scour the area for an ideal Jack-O-Lantern, you can pose for photos with your loved ones, enjoy hot chocolate on a Hayride, and even play with animals of all sorts in a petting farm.

The 604 is home to some pretty amazing pumpkin patches. Be sure to cross one of these places off of your list this October!

Richmond Country Farms | 12900 Steveston Highway, Richmond

They’ve dubbed themselves “the” place for pumpkins, for good reason! Each year, thousands of people flock to the farm to find more than just an orange vegetable of fun.

Your little ones will love the patch. Costumed entertainers – like Polly Pumpkin, Strawberry Shortcake and Korny Corn – make for a memorable experience.

There’s music, hayrides past the duck ponds and waterfalls, and an animal farm to mingle with furry friends!

Admission ranges between $9-$12, depending if you visit during the week or on a weekend.

Laity Pumpkin Patch | 21145 128th Avenue, Maple Ridge

A family favourite! Laity Pumpkin Patch has been a staple patch in the Tricities for over 25 years.

They post 18 acres of pristine pumpkins just waiting to be scooped up and taken home.

Aside from the pumpkin part, Laity has a great mini corn maze for your little ones, vegetables gardens (filled with non-pumpkin sorts), an animal farm, frontier town, heaps of whimsical decorations to admire, a place to pan for gold, and more!

Admission is $5 (3+).

Chilliwack Corn Maze & Pumpkin Farm | 41905 Yale Road West, Chilliwack

Don’t let the name fool you – this patch may be home to one of the best Corn Mazes in the 604, but their pumpkin patch ranks supreme, too!

With over 15 varieties of pumpkins on the farm, you’ll surely find the ideal one for you.

Come for the pumpkins and stay for the other amazing attractions, including the 12 acres Corn Maze, Giant Jumping Pillow, Pedal Carts, Duck Races, and even a Climbing Spiderweb!

Admission is $11 (3+).

Eagle Acres Dairy Farm | 8301 252nd Street, Langley

Formerly known as Aldor Acres Dairy, Eagle Acres is celebrating its final year at this location before moving next summer.

They pride themselves on pumpkins; yet, it’s the Dairy Barn exhibit that excites us most! Not only can you milk a cow or goat, you can feed the animals, cuddle up to some cute rabbits and kittens, and watch cow milking by the pros!

Admission is $8, or $38 for an entire family (two parents and their own kids).

Southlands Heritage Farm | 6767 Balaclava Street, Vancouver

Looking to escape the city without having to drive too far? Southlands Heritage Farm is located in the heart of Vancouver and offers everything you’ll ever want from a pumpkin patch.

It’s a magical farming oasis in the city!

Pumpkins are spread throughout the farm, making it easy for you to pick just the right one.

Visit with the horses and other animals while using a Self-guided tour brochure, available to all guests at the front office.

Admission is by donation, or $5 for your Self-guided tour (with options for wonderful group tours, too).

Westham Island Herb Farm | 4690 Kirkland Road, Delta

If you live out in Delta and the surrounding cities, this is THE patch to visit!

The owner has been selling pumpkins since they were 5 years old, so they know a thing or two about the perfect orange blob.

The patch offers a variety of sizes, from pumpkins that resemble a grapefruit to ones that are over a hundred pounds! Colours ranges include white, grey, green and the classic orange pumpkin.

Come hungry and try some Pumpkin Soup, served properly in a hollowed-out mini pumpkin bowl.

Check out the crowd of over 100 carved pumpkins that will be lit 10 days prior to Halloween, as well.

Admission is free, just pay for your prized pumpkin!

Port Kells Nurseries | 18730 88th Avenue, Surrey

This little pumpkin gem is more than just your typical patch.

Enjoy acres upon acres of beautiful pumpkins to choose from! Hop on a Hayride, ruffle up some feathers in the Chicken Coop, spook yourself in the Haunted House, play with the friendly goats, and find your way through the Corn Maze.

Admission is free, but pay $5 for the Hayrides – which is redeemable towards the cost of your pumpkin.
