You don’t always need to go all the way out to the North Shore to get a nice hike in. Check out some of these spots to hit the trails in the Surrey and Langley areas.
While they’re mostly trail walks and have minimal elevation—they will still force you to get outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

A scenic little trail in Surrey that will take you through a nature reserve. There are three towers along the trail that offer amazing views and the reserve is a popular spot for bird-watching.

A stunning park in Langley near farmland that offers plenty of trails to go walking and exploring.

A gorgeous area with tons of hiking trails to check out. Be sure to explore the upper Serpentine River and the Serpentine Hatchery.

This lovely park is located just on the border of Langley and Aldergrove. Hike along the trail to Aldergrove Bowl where you will be led to pretty scenery and eventually a viewpoint at the top of one of the rolling hills.

This park in Langley has plenty of trails that go along the Edgewater Bar area, and a loop going along the Houston Trail.

A brief walk to Tavistock Point on Brae Island offers spectacular views of the Fraser River.
