While not everyone may suffer from a fear of missing out, you’re not going to want to let this major opportunity pass you by. This is free money we’re talking about here.

B.C. parents, this is your last chance to get some extra cash for your kids. Whether that’s for Summer activities, camp, or hobbies, this bonus payment is definitely going to help with that.

BENEFITS

We reported not long ago on the Canada child benefit (CCB) that Canadian families would be getting in May. This monthly, tax-free benefit is actually part of a combined payment, with the other half belonging to the B.C. family benefit. This final possible bonus that families can cash in on this month is part of the B.C. family benefit. Therefore, to get your bonus, your family must be eligible for this benefit first.

Public Inquiry Into Money Laundering

There are a few eligibility stipulations, but the most obvious one is that the family must have a child under the age of 18

The child must also be registered for the CCB. If they are already, then perfect! You don’t need to do anything. If they aren’t, then you can apply here. As these benefits are doled out by the CRA, they require your information through the CCB to determine your further eligibility for the B.C. family benefit.

The payment amounts are based on your personal tax returns that you and your partner (spouse or common-law) have filed. To get into the nitty-gritty details, you can learn more here.

THE BONUS

This bonus was launched back in July 2024 and is now going to end in June 2025. Hence, this is the final possible month for families to claim this additional payment.

In order to receive the combined family and Canada child benefit bonus, you must have your child (or children) applied and registered for the CCB before the end of June 2025.

Once June passes by, B.C. families will be back to receiving their usual payments without the bonus. Get your extra payment while you still can, parents!
