Cheap Places

After Metro Vancouver got its first snowfall of the season this past week, the idea of laying on a hot beach sounds especially tempting.

While most all-inclusive packages to hot, tropical destinations start at around $1000 and up, this phenomenal deal with Sunwing Vacations can get you to paradise on budget.

Experience Cuba

If you’ve never been to Cuba, you’re in for a treat. This gorgeous island is home to some of the best live music, rum, cigars, beaches, snorkeling, and history in the world! Varadero beach is considered one of the nicest in the world: with sparkling white sand overlooking an endless turquoise ocean, it isn’t hard to see why.

Travel tip: While you certainly don’t have to leave Varadero, as it is a gorgeous paradise, Havana is a must-see city. While it won’t have the beaches that Varadero does, it is extremely beautiful, historically rich, and jam-packed with entertainment. You’ll feel like you’ve travelled into another era, as the cars are all old school models, and the buildings are colourful structures that hail times long past. It takes about 3 – 4 hours to travel to the city, so it may be worthwhile to spend a night or two there. The transfer buses are extremely affordable and comfortable, so you’ll be able to snooze or enjoy the sightseeing along the way.
