For all of those who fear using Transit, there is now less of a need to worry! In order to help all passengers feel more comfortable with their Transit experience, you can now text the Transit Police at 87-77-77 with any issues you may have.

If there is another passenger who is making you feel uncomfortable, or you fear for your safety, simply send a text with your skytrain number, bus stop number, or street names, along with your concern.
Although the Transit Police do frequent monitor many Transit locations, they may not always be there when you are experiencing a problem, making this a great way to easily contact them, when you are in need!
With recent bus operator and passenger assaults, Transit safety is indeed a pressing concern, around the Lower Mainland. In fact, the text-messaging system, is just one product of the Transit Police’s See Something, Say Something campaign, which encourages passengers to come together, to keep one another safe.
As many can say they have had an uncomfortable Transit experience, this service will hopefully help resolve any further issues that arise, and certainly is one way to use technology to keep our community safe!
