A recall alert has just been issued across Canada over products that were sold in Dollarama. The products, which may potentially contain mould, are not to be used, sold, served, or distributed.
DOLLARAMA CANADA RECALL
The recall was issued nationwide on October 16 by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency under the category “Food – Candy, confectionary, snacks and sweeteners.” It concerns Biskwi brand Waffles with Chocolaty Filling.
The CFIA asks that consumers and retailers “do not sell, use, serve or distribute the affected product.” Though they have a presence of “microbial contamination”, the CFIA notes that the issue is “non harmful (quality or spoilage).” Although this indicates that the problem is more to do with quality as opposed to a contaminant, it is still recommended not to consume the product.

The recall is also classified as a Class 3, meaning that there is a “low risk that consuming the food may result in any undesirable health problems.” This is the lowest class of risk in the CFIA’s assessment system.
