It’s what every restaurant aspires to obtain: a Michelin star. This shining achievement is something that not every eatery can claim to have, but two Vancouver restaurants were just awarded with this prestigious title.

MICHELIN STARS IN VANCOUVER
Vancouver is well-known for having fantastic food. Quite literally every corner of the city has something delicious to eat, whether that’s some trendy brunch or a high-scale restaurant that serves wagyu steak on expensive plates.
It should be no surprise to know that 12 Vancouver restaurants hold a Michelin star– including the two new ones that were recently crowned. There are also a number of other Vancouver places on the Michelin Guide that have been selected as having “good cooking”. Moreover, 15 restaurants are on the Bib Gourmand list, meaning that they have good quality and good value cooking.

THE TWO NEW RESTAURANTS
The two new Vancouver restaurants that were awarded a Michelin star are serving up Japanese cuisine, with dishes that are as gorgeous as they are delicious.
Sumibiyaki Arashi and Sushi Hyun are the proud owners of the new stars. Both restaurants focus on the ultimate omakase experience, with sophisticated elements and meticulous preparation.
