Warmer Winter Clothing Drive

As the cold weather slowly creeps in, we’re all getting excited for the holidays and beginning to count down the days to Christmas. With so much spirit in the air, this feels like the warmest time of the year to most, however it’s the coldest for the less fortunate.

Big Phat Indian Weddings is holding their 4th annual ‘Warmer Winter Clothing Drive’ November 10th-23rd just outside the North Surrey Rec Centre where they’ll be collecting clothing items such as jackets, sweaters, hats, toques, gloves, socks, sleeping bags, blankets, umbrellas and jogging pants. For those who would like to donate money, you are encouraged to purchase clothes instead to carry out the goal of delivering a warmer winter.

Upon collection, clothing distributions will take place November 25th outside the Surrey Central skytrain station where the donations will be made available for the community from 1:30pm – 4:30pm. Those in attendance can also enjoy free hot chocolate and music. The collection will be spread across tables and you may pick up the items of your choice.

Last year, the event attracted 100’s from the community who left with smiles of appreciation. If you can, donate clothing, please do between the 10th-23rd and help spread the word to create a warmer winter in the 604!
