Surrey’s annual Sounds of Summer is back for another year of fantastic performances! Everyone is welcome to enjoy these performances as part of the city’s free summertime music series. From jazz to R&B to Punjabi fusion, some of Surrey’s most beautiful parks and outdoor spaces are about to come alive with the smooth sounds of music.
SOUNDS OF SUMMER
Shows run every Wednesday in July and August from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Guests can expect a dazzling lineup of local artists that’ll have you grooving throughout the evening. You can find a full list of concerts and details below.

Ben Dunnill Jazz Trio: July 2 at The Glades Woodland Garden (457 172 Street)
Known for his dynamic and high-energy performances, Ben Dunnill brings a diverse mix of styles to the stage with his band Ben Dunnill Jazz Trio. You won’t forget the spectacular musicality and captivating stage presence that Ben will be presenting at The Glades Woodland Garden.
Connor Nelson: July 9 at Francis Park (15951 83 Avenue)
Expect two amazing artists at this concert. Surrey-based artist Glisha will be opening the show with her blends of pop, R&B, and folk in lyrically-charged tracks. Headlining will be Connor Nelson, whose melding of R&B and pop make for a genre he calls “Midnight Pop”. This concert will be a perfect show for anyone who loves some amazing musical blending.

Ayla Tesler-Mabé: July 16 at Newton Athletic Park (7395 125 Street)
Opening for this show is Ivan Hartle. Born and raised in Vancouver, Hartle is known for his vintage sonic aesthetic combined with modern elements. Ayla Tesler-Mabé is headlining – a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter also from Vancouver. You’re sure to see loads of talent on this stage with these two amazing local artists.
Fionn: July 23 at Bear Creek Park (13750 – 88 Avenue)
Get ready for some major pop vibes with this show’s opener Royal Oak. Combining 80s guitars and 808s, as well as some EDM-inspired synth and pop-punk, Royal Oak is brimming with pop influence. The headliner is twin sisters Alanna and Brianne Finn-Morris who make up the duo Fionn. Their music transcends genre and resonates deeply with listeners with performances that dazzle everyone.

The Boot Scooters line dancing: July 30 at Surrey Civic Plaza (13450 104 Avenue)
This is an interactive concert that’ll have you stomping your boots! The Boot Scooters are a dynamic group that delivers honky-tonk like you’ve never seen before! Prepare yourself for some amazing country music and a night full of line dancing instruction. No experience necessary– just be ready to two-step and giddyup!
Cookin’ With Brass: August 6 at Darts Hill Garden Park (1633 170 St)
If you love that New Orleans street party vibe, then Cookin’ With Brass is going to be the concert you won’t want to miss. Known for their amazing performances, Cookin’ With Brass is a band that brings the celebration wherever they go. Prepare for a PARDI-GRAS!

Music City Showcase: August 13 at Clayton Community Centre (7155 187A Street)
This concert is a showcase of Surrey musicians! Presenting a wide range of musical styles, this show is the perfect opportunity to hear some fantastic local artists. You can hear the music of Maddy Lofvendahl, Kiara Dokaj, Colin Sankey, and Khyla Granstrom. They all have something different to bring to this concert, and you’ll definitely hear something you like!
Sukoon Band: August 20 at T.E. Scott Park (7014 148 Street)
Opening up this concert is Sharanjeet Singh Mand, an extraordinary sitar player from Surrey. His sounds will flow into the headliner performance by Sukoon Band. Based in Surrey, this ensemble is known for their fusion of Sufi, Qawwali, Bollywood, and Punjabi music. These seasoned musicians will be gracing the stage with their spectacular performances, transcending cultural boundaries and bringing together all sorts of amazing sounds.

Mazacote Salsa Band: August 27 at Surrey Civic Plaza (13450 104 Ave)
Prepare to groove to the rhythm and soul of Latin dance with this interactive salsa concert! Featuring the sounds of Mazacote, this show invites everyone to get up and dance alongside a live performance by the Juno-nominated band Mazacote, who are known for their tropical beats inspired by Colombian, Venezuelan, and Mozambican music.
