Summer hasn’t quite left us yet, but that doesn’t mean Mother Nature can’t switch things up in an instant. A snowfall warning in BC has been issued for:
- Fort Nelson
- Muncho Lake Park – Stone Mountain Park
Snowfall Warning In BC
According to Environment Canada, a long period of snowfall with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm is expected.
An “unseasonably cold arctic airmass” will descend upon northern BC beginning later today.
“Rain forecast over the region today will change over to snow at times heavy this evening as temperatures quickly approach the freezing mark” reads the special weather statement.
In addition, snowfall accumulations of 20 cm or more are anticipated overnight through Sunday at higher elevations of the Alaska Highway between Fort Nelson and Watson Lake and to the south of Fort Nelson.
The snowfall warning is expected to end Monday morning.
Travelling on these roads is not recommended and people are asked to be cautious when driving.
