April 2014 has been a wild and historic month for the Vancouver Canucks to say the least. On April 7, the Canucks lost a game resulting in playoff contender elimination. On April 8, the franchise fired Mike Gillis and finally on April 9, the Canucks hired fan favorite and ex player Trevor Linden as the teams new President and alternate Governor.
Trevor Linden has a long history with the Canucks. Vancouver is where he started his career and eventually finished it 20 years later. Here’s a look back at 5 memorable moments of Trevor Linden as a player.
1. Draft Day
On June 11, 1988, Trevor Linden was selected by the Vancouver Canucks as a second overall draft pick.

In 1991, Trevor Linden was named captain of the Canucks at the tender age of 21 which made him the youngest captain in the NHL at the time.
