Can you believe there are only two more weekends until Halloween? From pumpkin patches to scary Halloween events.There are so many things to see and do in Metro Vancouver.

Although forecast shows a slightly rainier weekend than usual, it’s not something a true Vancouverite can’t handle. Put on you raincoat and waterproof shoes, and go enjoy the city.  If you prefer something more lowkey, it is also the best time to go Halloween costume shopping!

Spooktacular Halloween Market – North Vancouver (FREE)

Get ready for a spooktacular Halloween Market at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver, featuring a wide range of vendors offering eerie gifts, fun decorations, and delicious Halloween treats.

The first 50 kids at both the Day and Evening markets will receive a free spooky gift, and there’s a costume competition with five winners each receiving $50 Market Cash. With kids’ activities and the choice between a daytime or nighttime market experience, there’s fun for everyone!

Ugly Potato Day (FREE)

The annual “Ugly Potato Day,” started by Ty Heppell of Heppell’s Farm, is set for Saturday, October 19, at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. Thanks to a dozen farms in Greater Vancouver, around 250,000 pounds of free vegetables will be given away.

The event aims to fight food waste by distributing edible but “imperfect” vegetables that would otherwise be discarded, including misshapen potatoes, squash, carrots, beets, apples, garlic, and more. Heppell said the event began two years ago with just 12 attendees and has since grown into a huge movement. This year, they expect around 15,000 people.Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags and donate to the local food bank. It’s also important to note that traffic in the area is expected to be extremely busy.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a major Hindu celebration symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. It is one of the most popular event in the Indian calendar.

In Metro Vancouver, there will be 3 events held by Diwali Fest, celebrating the occasion. They will have live performances, music, crafts, a market and more.
