Vancouver’s longest-running Christmas Market is back for its 16th year, and it’s bringing its biggest transformation ever.
Offering an authentic German Christmas market experience, this festival unites everyone and offers attractions, treats, hot seasonal drinks, and holiday gifts. Here’s what you need to know about this year’s massive celebrations.
Vancouver Christmas Market 2026
The Vancouver Christmas Market opens to the public on November 16 and runs until December 24. Guests can walk among twinkling lights, visit vendors or enjoy some of the many delicious holiday treats available. This European-inspired Christmas village will sure be a must-see of the season.
Excitingly, there will also be five new experiences at the Market, marking this as the most significant expansion in its history. A press release describes these exciting additions:
- New German Village facades at the market entrance — new architecture that reframes the moment guests walk in, and the most visible physical change since the Market’s founding
- The Wishing Forest — an interactive woodland in the alley in front of the Alpen Haus, where guests write a wish on a wooden ornament and leave it behind for the season
- The Secret Wall Cocktail Hut — ring a bell in the Pyramid area and Santa, or the Grinch, hands your drink through a hidden window
- The Fire Pit Lounge — warmth and gathering space around standing fire pits, designed for lingering, conversation, and slowing down
- The Collectable Mug 2026 — this year’s limited-edition keepsake, marking the Market’s new era
And as always, there will be plenty of the traditional activities and features that guests expect each year. From the Christmas carousel and a full lineup of beloved entertainment, there’s tons to see and do at the Vancouver Christmas Market.

There will be more than 110 artisan huts and vendors offering handcrafted gifts, food products, and more.
Eat & Drink
Arguably, you cannot visit without partaking in the festive feasts and drinks. Warm up with Glühwein (mulled wine) or get a selection of German and Austrian beers, spiced apple cider, and hot chocolate.
To eat, there are a number of savoury and sweet delicacies to enjoy. Some popular items include Mr. Hotcakes rolled up pancakes, soft pretzels, artisanal deli meats, turkey haus, roasted pork haus, perogies, schnitzel, and so much more.
Be Merry
In addition to festive photo opportunities with the twinkling “Lovers’ Lane” and 35-foot tall walk-through Christmas Tree, there is much to do to get into the holiday spirit. And there will even be live entertainment happening on the Flying Stage on the second story of the beautiful Christmas Pyramid.
