In case you missed the memo, poke is all the rage right now. It’s a classic Hawaiian dish, consisting of raw fish. The poke bar is set to open in February at 995 Hornby Street.

St. Lawrence

Chef JC Poirier knows good food. He’s the co-owner of Ask For Luigi, Pourhouse and Pizzeria Farina. He will be opening this new restaurant in Railtown some time this Spring and it will serve Quebec-inspired cuisine.

JamJar

The popular restaurant on Commercial Drive will be offering up their delicious folk-style Lebanese food at a new location on West 11th. It is expected to open later this Winter, at the original Rangoli location.

Rhinofish

Another spot expected to open later this Winter. Rhinofish is a Taiwanese-inspired noodle bar that will be the perfect addition to Chinatown. Watch out for it, coming soon to 550 Main Street.

Roots + Fruits

A cafe and organic cold-pressed juice bar all rolled into one. Making the Strathcona neighbourhood a little more healthier, it will be located at 848 Powell Street when it opens sometime this Winter.

WildTale

The coastal grill celebrates fresh seafood along with farm favourites with their cuisine. They have a spot in Yaletown but will be opening a new location at West 2nd Avenue in Olympic Village early this year.

Straight Outta Brooklyn

Chinatown will soon have a new pizza joint, set to open this Spring. The New York style pizzeria already has a location at 350 Robson and 701 Kingsway. But thankfully there’s no such thing as too many pizza restaurants.
