A new year is a time to try new things and for foodies—it’s the perfect excuse to get out there and explore all the new restaurants on tap for 2017.
From burgers and shakes, to a poke and noodle bar, this year has got it all. Add some of these gems to your Vancouver foodie bucket list.
The famous burger and milkshake joint is set to open early this year with its first Vancouver location at 755 Nelson Street.
A new bubble tea spot slated for a February opening. The company originally hails from Toronto but now has over 800 shops around the world. The new Vancouver store will be located at 6365 Cambie Street.
In case you missed the memo, poke is all the rage right now. It’s a classic Hawaiian dish, consisting of raw fish. The poke bar is set to open in February at 995 Hornby Street.
Chef JC Poirier knows good food. He’s the co-owner of Ask For Luigi, Pourhouse and Pizzeria Farina. He will be opening this new restaurant in Railtown some time this Spring and it will serve Quebec-inspired cuisine.
The popular restaurant on Commercial Drive will be offering up their delicious folk-style Lebanese food at a new location on West 11th. It is expected to open later this Winter, at the original Rangoli location.
Another spot expected to open later this Winter. Rhinofish is a Taiwanese-inspired noodle bar that will be the perfect addition to Chinatown. Watch out for it, coming soon to 550 Main Street.
A cafe and organic cold-pressed juice bar all rolled into one. Making the Strathcona neighbourhood a little more healthier, it will be located at 848 Powell Street when it opens sometime this Winter.
The coastal grill celebrates fresh seafood along with farm favourites with their cuisine. They have a spot in Yaletown but will be opening a new location at West 2nd Avenue in Olympic Village early this year.
Chinatown will soon have a new pizza joint, set to open this Spring. The New York style pizzeria already has a location at 350 Robson and 701 Kingsway. But thankfully there’s no such thing as too many pizza restaurants.
This place is known for their buns. The bakery and cafe serves an amazing assortment of fresh baked goods and specialty teas. Check them out when they open their doors early this year. This will be their third location in Canada and their second spot in Vancouver, at 193 Keefer Place.
