With the sky on fire and the beaches swarming with spectators, the 2018 Honda Celebration of Light finale will have an electric atmosphere.

Of course, every night of the annual event draws an enormous crowd; however, the finale always brings the largest crowd, and this year will be no different.

In fact, organizers expect that more than 500,000 people will descend upon the downtown core for the dazzling spectacle.

2018 represents the 28th consecutive year of the popular event. This year’s theme is love.

On Wednesday, August 1st, all eyes were on harbour skies, as Sweden’s fireworks display painted the darkness an array of sparkling colours; the second night drew a crowd of roughly 400,000 spectators.

All eyes will be on South Korea this Saturday, August 4th, for sparkling finale of the luminous event.

As usual, the festival encourages people to walk, cycle, or take transit to the event; there will be a multitude of road closures in effect during this time.

You’ll want to ensure you arrive very early and find a spot, if you haven’t already booked seating. For a complete list of ways to ensure that you have a great time at the Celebration of Lights, and don’t spoil the occasion for others, have a look at our handy etiquette list here.
