April showers bring lots of umbrellas and in-studio filming! Last month 4 pilot episodes for new TV shows wrapped up filming in Vancouver with the hopes of being green lit to a silver screen near you. Ideally, they all get picked up and choose Hollywood North as their production home! They include two for NBC: A Million Little Things and In Between Lives; and two for The CW: Dead Inside and The End of the World As We Know It.
TV Shows in the Lower Mainland
Two more pilots are still underway around town into April: The Mission (aka Safe Harbor) for ABC and the highly publicized reboot of Charmed for The CW.
The uber popular dark teen drama Riverdale which re-imagines beloved characters from Archie and Friends wrapped up production of Season 2 in March. Last month, Vancouver also hosted a special televized event for the entire nation: the 2018 Juno Awards hosted by Burnaby’s own Michael Bublé. In addition, the popular show shot some scenes in Ladner Village.
This April, there’s a pair of relocated TV shows filming in Vancouver as well as a pair of TV pilots gracing the city. That’s in addition to the 9 brand new shows shooting their debut seasons and another 9 returning and ongoing shows. So, in total there are 22 TV shows scheduled for production around town during April 2018:
Vancouver’s very own Sarah Jeffery stars in the Charmed reboot and celebrates her 22nd birthday on April 3. She recently starred in FOX’s Wayward Pines which also filmed locally and in NBC’s Shades of Blue starring Jennifer Lopez.
