It’s time to bid farewell to Seth Rogen’s voice on Translink’s PA system.
Seth Rogen’s legendary voice announcements on the SkyTrain and buses will officially come to an end on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018. This should come as little surprise given Translink declared his voice as a temporary pilot.
TransLink made the announcement today on their Buzzer Blog. Fortunately, the post mentions that Translink has added three new Seth announcements onto the Expo and Millennium Line for passengers to tune into before the deadline.
- Coast Mountain Bus Company Hiring Bus Drivers For $32/Hour
- TransLink Has Launched A New Express Bus Between Surrey and UBC
- TransLink Might Be Increasing Parking Rates By 3% Across Metro Vancouver
Riders will have a chance to hear the new announcements onboard trains travelling from Burquitlam to Moody Centre station, as well as the platforms at Burrard and Waterfront station.
What will Seth talk about? Apparently “hipsters, Waterfront Station and Hotel Vancouver”.
This of course will be in addition to his etiquette PSAs about courtesy seats, feet on seats, and walking left and standing right on the escalators.
It was announced back in May that Morgan Freeman would make announcements on SkyTrains and buses. However, the actor was accused of sexual misconduct with 8 women the following day and was dropped by Translink as a result.
Lucky for Vancouver, hometown hero Seth Rogen stepped up to the plate and delivered.
We’ll miss you, Seth.
