Vancouver has been home to many, many conventions over the years. Whether it’s for industry experts, enthusiasts, or anything in between, our West Coast city is a gracious host to all who wish to host a gathering.
This July, the biggest convention Vancouver has ever hosted will be coming. And it’s going to be a huge one.
RECORD-BREAKING
From July 3 to July 6, the 2025 International Convention (IC2025) for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) will be coming to town. It is slated to be the largest convention that Vancouver has ever seen. Approximately 57,000 AA members have attended the convention in the past. And they’ve also had 5,000 volunteers from all over the U.S., and even other countries.

Considering that Vancouver’s largest past conventions reached an attendance count of just below 15,000, IC2025 is shaping up to break some records.
IC2025
IC2025 takes place once every five years, with the last one being in 2015. Their 2020 event was unsurprisingly cancelled due to COVID-19, so this will be their first one since the pandemic. Notably, 2025 is also the 90th anniversary for the founding of their Fellowship.
This year’s theme is “language of the heart”, with the event fostering a comfortable, welcoming, and supportive atmosphere for its guests. There plans to be meetings, workshops, dances, and events– but most importantly, they will be celebrating sobriety with their traditional flag ceremony.

Advance tickets are no longer available, which were originally priced at $160 USD. They are now $185 USD, which can be found on their website.
The event will take place in BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre. It is certainly looking like a busy Summer for Vancouver with cruise ship season and the FIFA World Cup coming up.
