Just last week we announced tech competition would be heating up inside Metropolis Mall at Metrotown with the new Microsoft retail store preparing to go head to head with Apple, however, it seems like Apple is more focused on expansion plans to Surrey B.C.
There are currently 5 Apple stores in the 604 spread out in Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby and Coquitlam. Guildford Mall recently just revealed a $280 million dollar expansion this summer, debuting a lot of popular retailers it was missing, all but Apple. Many have been curious if the mall would receive one soon, and the answer is YES!
Next to the Guess Store on the second level are black drapes accompanied by a large Apple logo which recently went up! Further, with a quick search on Apple’s website, we found job postings for a new Surrey retail location offering jobs for thirteen different positions (they’re still hiring!)
Now the big question is.. when will Apple Surrey open its doors? Many people believe it’s on September 20th 2013, the same day Apple releases the new iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, but our inside sources say the company plans on delaying the launch until September 28th. Nonetheless, the new Guildford location will be a convenient location for many and add the icing to Guildford Malls facelift!
