The annual event involves lighting up 200 stars outside of St. Paul’s Hospital, but this time around they have a new display.

Living Light is an interactive piece, where passers-by can light up a star with a donation using a contactless card.
“The Living Light gives everyone the opportunity to light a star themselves, shining brightly when you donate and fading when it goes too long without support,” states the press release.

Other landmarks showed their support in their own way this year, by lighting up their exterior to match.

The Lights of Hope campaign raises funds to support the highest-need patients and caregivers at St. Paul’s Hospital, as well as Mount Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Providence Health Care’s seniors care homes.
