Metro Vancouver Weather Forecast News - Rainy Vancouver weather this week

It’s that time of year when Vancouver becomes Raincouver, but who are we kidding, the rain likes to make surprise appearances year-round.

But the cure for rainy day blues is to think of all the rain as something to enjoy, rather than something to get through. So get out your umbrellas, because there’s quite a few things to do in Vancouver when it’s raining!

Things To Do When It Rains

Take a Stroll through Granville Island

We know Granville Island is a spot often reserved for tourists, but there’s a reason why people from outside of Vancouver love this spot so much.

Take a stroll along the water, stop in for a cup of tea at a nearby cafe or a beer at Granville Island Brewery. There’s plenty of shops to stop and take in, as well as the Arts Club Theatre Company, if you want to check out a show.

Grab an Umbrella and Wander Queen Elizabeth Park

Queen Elizabeth Park is beautiful at all times of the year. Have a wander through its gardens and then warm up in the Bloedel Conservatory.

See a Show

You don’t have to spend a lot to enjoy the theatre in Vancouver. Take in a community production at Metro Theatre Centre in Marpole or The Cultch in East Van.

Go on a Craft Beer Tour

Vancouver has an endless amount of breweries, so why not stroll through one of our many neighbourhoods and try out a few samplers along the way?

For example, there are more than 15 breweries in East Van and a handful of spots in Port Moody. By the end of it, you probably won’t be bothered by the rain anyway.

Explore the City’s Museums and Galleries

Vancouver has more to offer than just the Vancouver Art Gallery. You may find a gallery or museum just for you, no matter what your interests are. Visit the Sports Hall of Fame and Museum or the Vancouver Police Museum for true crime stories.

Go On a Tour

Go ahead and be a tourist in your own city. Vancouver offers a few walking tours like Forbidden Vancouver or the Trolley Tours. Check ahead of time and learn more about the city’s colourful history.

There are many spots in the city, including the Secret Garden in Kerrisdale, Neverland Tea Salon in Kits or L’Opera Pattiserie in Richmond.

See What’s New on Main Street

Main Street is forever changing it seems, but in the best way possible.

With so many boutiques, cafes and restaurants, there is a lot to explore. So why not spend an afternoon experiencing its many gifts?

Check Out AirBnb Experiences

If you’re struggling coming up with your own ideas, AirBnB Experiences will have plenty of activities for you to take part in. Check out what they have in store because you might just find something you love.

Whatever your interests are, there are tons of one-day classes you can take from cooking to dance to improv. There’s something for everyone.
