Date Ideas In Vancouver For Under $20

Chase cherry blossoms

The blossoms are out in full force! Nothing beats a romantic stroll under the pretty in pink ornamental trees. Stanley Park, Sunset Beach, Kits, David Lam Park and even the Burrard SkyTrain station are just a few of the best spots to catch the blossoms in full bloom.

Explore the UBC Botanical Garden

This hidden gem is a must—especially for Spring. Soak up the scenery with your loved one and enjoy all the beautiful plants and flowers the park has to offer. Access to the park costs $10.

Hop on an AquaBus to Granville Island

The Aquabus is a little adventure in its own and departs from numerous spots downtown. Hop on and go over to Granville Island for some window shopping (and maybe a treat or two from the market while you’re at it).

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden

A serene oasis to really appreciate the beauty of nature. This spot can be found in Chinatown and makes for a great afternoon stroll. Admission is $12 throughout April and $14 May through Summer.

Picnic at Stanley Park

When the sun is out, why not take advantage of it and have a picnic at the park. It’s a fun and simple date that allows you to prepare a meal together (or get take out) and enjoy some quality time while taking in the great outdoors.

See a comedy show

Laughing together is always a good idea. For a cheaper comedy show, check out TheatreSports. On Sundays, tickets are only $8.75 and the shows are always a good time.

Rent bikes & ride the sea wall

Grab your bike or rent one and explore the city on wheels. There’s no better way to spend a sunny Spring day than biking the seawall with your significant other.

Visit the Vancouver Art Gallery

Check out the latest exhibits at the art gallery. It’s a fun date idea that many people don’t do often enough—especially considering admission on Tuesday evenings is by donation.

Go for an easy hike

The couple that hikes together stays together? With so many trails near Vancouver—this is an obvious choice. Tackle an easy Spring hike together like Quarry Rock or Lighthouse Park.

Soak up the tulip fields

Just outside of Vancouver, you can bask in the most picturesque tulip fields. Enjoy rows upon rows of the vibrant flowers and even take some home with you from the u-pick area or the little shop after! There’s a tulip festival in Abbotsford and in Chilliwack.

Top it off with ice cream

Dinner? How about dessert instead? Check out one of the many ice cream shops around the city to indulge your sweet tooth. Perverted Ice Cream is a relatively new joint that has a bit of a twist but will hit the spot.
