The city of Burnaby has roads divided into multiple categories:

  • Priority 1: Arterial streets (red).
  • Priority 2: Bus routes and collector roads (blue).
  • Priority 3: Local roads with steep grades and only one outlet; roads around elementary schools, senior centres and long-term care homes (green).   
  • Anything else is prioritized last.
