Sneak Peek Inside The Andy Warhol Exhibit

Andy Warhol has come to Vancouver for a limited time. And no, he won’t be found in the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Located at 1280 Homer street in Yaletown, the exhibition “Warhol – A Different Idea of Love” features 80 original pieces by Warhol. Hours of operation at 11am – 6pm daily, with appointments needed on Sunday.

Andy Warhol captivated an audience when he helped start the pop art movement. By this he took every day items and turned them into art. One of the most famous examples is his Campbell soup painting.

Most of his paintings have ended up in museums around the world or in houses of the rich and famous. For this month only, until March 30, 2015, you are able to view a number of Warhol’s pieces for free.

After dying in 1983, Warhol’s work still earns millions a year. In 2013 alone, the sales of his original pieces profited $633 million US.

With a long list of famous pieces, a lot of them have made their way to Vancouver including his Mickey Mouse painting, Elvis, Marylyn Monroe, and his Campbell soup.

This small warehouse provides the perfect location to view these iconic pieces. The white walls help the art jump out at you. Walking around the small space with other Warhol enthusiasts aids to the experience.
