You might notice some buildings turning blue this week in B.C., but it’s all for a very good reason. This September is prostate cancer awareness month, inviting landmarks and homes to show their support for those affected by prostate cancer by glowing blue.

Blue Landmarks in B.C. This Week
Light Up in Blue is a countrywide initiative in Canada to raise awareness about scheduling annual prostate exams to ensure early detection. Landmarks and homes across the country are invited to light up in blue for a day, a week, or all month long.
“Watch as Canada turns blue in September. Landmarks and homes glow in solidarity, raising awareness and showing support for those affected by prostate cancer.”
This year, there are over 120 Canadian landmarks shining blue on select days throughout September.
There are a large number of B.C. landmarks that will be glowing blue. Take a look below for some of them:
- September 1: Bloedel Conservatory
- September 1: Burrard Bridge
- September 6: Canada Place Sails
- September 7: BC Place
- September 7: Vancouver Convention Centre
- September 7: Vancouver Airport Tower
- All month: Tumbler Ridge
