Photos: Perseid Meteor Shower Peaks Over Vancouver

The Perseid Meteor Shower peaked Thursday night, thrilling dozens of metro Vancouverites who stayed up to catch the spectacular viewing.

Among other viewing spots, Porteau Cove remains to be one of the most popular locations in metro Vancouver.

If you missed the showers on Thursday night, you’ll still have a chance to catch them over the next few days, however, the amount of shooting stars will decrease by half each night.

For the best viewing, be sure to go out about half an hour early so your eyes can adjust to the darkness. It’s also advised to go later in the evening to ensure the moon doesn’t interfere with your stargazing.
