Labour Day long weekend is here, and with it is a bunch of festivals that will be closing down certain roads in Metro Vancouver.

Festivals in Metro Vancouver: Long Weekend Road Closures
Gastown Sunday Set

Every Sunday from July 5 to September 6, Gastown’s Water Street goes car-free to celebrate Gastown Sunday Set. This summer series festival transforms Water Street into a stage, gallery, patio, dance floor, and open-air playground to host a variety of fun events.
Don’t expect to be able to drive down Water Street this Sunday as the space shifts into pedestrian-only access from 12:00pm to 8:00pm for the very last time this summer.

Our Neck of the Woods

Our Neck of the Woods is an all-day festival that offers up live music, food trucks, ice-cold drinks and family fun. The event is completely free to attend, featuring major headliners like Bedouin Soundclash, Dear Rouge, and Tim & The Gloryboys
For the festival, Haney Place Loop will be closed from September 3 at 8:00 am to September 6 at 6:00pm. Additionally, the roads on 224th between McIntosh and 119th, and Fraser Street between Dewdney Trunk Road and McInstosh will be closed on September 5 from 11:00am to 12:00am.

Car Free Days

Car Free Days are major community festivals that offer their own array of live music, vendors, food, and other interactive fun.
This long weekend, there are two festivals happening in their own respective cities. The first is in Maple Ridge, and is actually part of the Our Neck of the Woods celebration. The other is on Commercial Drive, which will shut down Commercial Drive from Grandview Highway to 1st Avenue.
