Gastown’s Water Street is transforming into a car-free celebration every Sunday from July 5 to September 6. That’s right: it’s the return of Gastown Sunday Set, an annual car-free series with a weekly setlist of music, food, art, shopping, and so much else every Sunday.

Every week is something new on Water Street. Expect fresh DJ setlists, art drops, and interactive installations to have fun with. There’s also markets and games, as well as curated surprises. It makes Sundays that much more exciting as you wander through Gastown, never quite sure what you’re going to see next.
Here’s some of the major events taking place during Gastown Sunday Set:
- July 5, August 9, September 9: Streetside Sessions
- Hosted in collaboration with Public Disco, this is coffee culture meets curated soundscapes. The streets are being turned into stages, featuring local selectors from communities like TableTutors and b.sideradio.
- July 12, July 26, August 23: Gastown in Bloom
- Expect pop-up flower stalls, seasonal bouquets, and blooms everywhere. It’s going to be a botanical promenade, perfect for strolling and shopping.
- July 19, August 2, August 30: Open Air Atelier
- It’s an art celebration! Watch live painting and street performances as galleries line the walkways.
- August 16: Gastown Unscripted
- Unplugged and unscripted to keep those slow Sundays mellow.
