McDonald’s Not-So-Secret 'Secret Menu' Exists

The McDonald’s Secret Menu was confirmed in a recent Reddit AMA with a user claiming to be a shift manager at a Glasgow restaurant.

The art of a “grill order” was described as any additional or subtracted ingredient to an existing menu item. This includes simply asking for no pickles or extra cheese to the more adventurous requests like double patties in one bun.

McDonald’s does not acknowledge a ‘secret menu’ but does confirm that customers can ask for changes, which are based on a manager’s discretion and may have additional item costs. For example, adding an additional cheeseburger to a meal is commonly known as a 2 Cheeseburger Meal which may not appear on any menu boards.

#HackTheMenu has a full-guided list of Secret Menu concoctions it claims can be ordered or assembled at McDonald’s restaurants. This includes the coveted Land, Sea and Air Burger which consists of a Big Mac, a Filet-O-Fish and a McChicken. There’s also a Monster Mac, if you want a heart-attack, which contains 8 beef patties in one bun.

If you wish to try your luck, you can also try to order the Mc10:35: a mashup of an Egg McMuffin and a Double Cheeseburger, which can only be made around 10:45 a.m. when breakfast is ending and lunch service is beginning.

According to the #hackthemenu website, “The creators of the McDonald’s secret menu are those that dared to dream. Those who thought, ‘hey, I can make this better’. And that’s exactly what they did.”
