As if the West End wasn’t cool enough—it will soon be home to an exciting new Japanese eatery. Izakaya Gon’s is opening on Denman Street this May.

It is taking over the spot that used to house another Japanese joint—Yuzu Shokutei. The menu is still being finalized but it will feature authentic Japanese cuisine including all things sushi, sashimi, tempura and sake.

As Vancouverites know, we can never have enough sushi joints in town.

This is the first venture into Canada for the Japanese company, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. The restaurant is currently looking to hire staff members, but soon we will get to experience its delicious eats.
