With just over a week left until Halloween, now is the perfect time to get into the spooky spirit. And what better way than with a love potion or a brew for two?
From October 21 to November 1, H Tasting Lounge at The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver is launching The Midnight Apothecary, a limited-edition Halloween cocktail menu inspired by old-world apothecaries, botanical folklore and a little modern magic.
The special menu is part of the Westin BOOshore event. The hotel’s larger Halloween transformation, also features glowing installations, seasonal food, activities, and plenty of other fun and spooky festivities.
At H Tasting Lounge, though, it’s all about the brews.

The Midnight Apothecary at the H Tasting Lounge
The Midnight Apothecary features a collection of cocktails built around ingredients ranging from rose and elderflower to Thai basil, butterfly pea flower and Scotch bonnet.
The Love Spell combines vodka with rose, elderflower and raspberry for a floral and fruit-forward take on a Halloween potion.
For something with a little more heat, The Nightshade mixes tequila, passionfruit, Thai basil and Scotch bonnet, giving the drink a tropical profile with a spicy finish.

Then there is The Oracle, made with gin, butterfly pea flower, citrus and sparkling wine. Butterfly pea flower is known for its deep natural colour, making it an especially fitting ingredient for a Halloween cocktail menu.
The lineup also includes The Brew, an ever-changing rum punch that adds an element of mystery to each visit.
For anyone skipping the alcohol, The Antidote offers an equally seasonal option with Earl Grey tea, smoked plum, citrus and tonic.
Together, the drinks give H Tasting Lounge a playful Halloween identity without straying too far from the polished cocktails the waterfront lounge is already known for.
Make a Halloween night of it on Vancouver’s waterfront
The timing makes The Midnight Apothecary an easy excuse for a fall night out in Coal Harbour.
During Westin BOOshore, the rest of The Westin Bayshore will be transformed with glowing pumpkins, oversized Halloween décor, atmospheric lighting and unexpected installations throughout the property.
The hotel’s courtyard will take on an especially dramatic look after dark, with illuminated displays appearing throughout the gardens and pathways. Even the heated outdoor pool will become part of the scene, reflecting the lights and Halloween installations surrounding it.

That means guests can stop into H Tasting Lounge for a cocktail before exploring the rest of the property, or make it part of a full Halloween evening at the hotel.
Seasonal food will also be available elsewhere at the Bayshore, including Halloween treats at T&Co Café and a special dessert at H2 Kitchen + Bar.
