While they may not look like the most threatening species, a gang of deer has attacked a woman on Vancouver Island.
The woman was trying to let several deer out of her Oak Bay garden on Monday, August 3rd, when one of the deers head butted her to the ground. Following that, the animal proceeded to stomp on her while she was laying on the ground.
Police have stated that the animal was likely defending its fawn, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
While she was knocked to the ground, the woman incurred minor injuries from the hooves.

Deer Attack
Interestingly, this isn’t the first aggressive encounter from deer on the island. In fact, the seaside municipality has seen a problematic number of incidents with the inquisitive creatures. In 2015, 11 of the animals were culled in an effort to curb the impact.
As a result, local authorities have considered using deer “birth control.” This process involves shooting the deer with contraception serum from a dart gun.
